This developer was supplied in Zone V kits for several years. This formula has worked consistently well for general use photography. Follow the suggested variations to achieve different results.

Note also that the latent image properties for reversal films are not long lived. While black & white and some C-41 films may hold their latent images for a long time (years), reversal films are unlikely to retain their latent-image color balance over long periods.

Water 110F 900 ml
Sod. Sulfite anhyd. 23 g
Hydroquinone 6 g
Metol 2.5 g
Phenidone 1% solution 50 ml (65 ml 1% Dimezone-S)
Sod. Carbonate anhyd. 18 g
Pot. Bromide 1.8g
Sod. thiocyanate 5% solution 20 ml (2.5ml 40% soln.)
Benzotriazole 0.2% solution 50 ml
Pot. Iodide 0.2% solution 5 ml
Water to make 1 liter
Set pH = 10.0

Notes:
To decrease yellow: increasing thiocyanate 0.1 g produces a very noticeable change. To increase yellow: decrease thiocyanate 0.1 g.

First developers usually use Elon/Metol (Phenidone) to Hydroquinone ratio 1:2. To lower contrast, use 2:1. For medium contrast, use 1:1.

An alternative MPQ formulation giving high contrast:
Metol 1.5 g
Phenidone 1% solution 25 ml
Hydroquinone 6 g

Medium contrast MPQ:
Metol 1.5 g
Phenidone 1% solution 25 ml (32ml Dimezone S 1% soln.)
Hydroquinone 2.0 g

Low contrast MPQ:
Metol 3.5 g
Phenidone 1% solution 25 ml (32ml Dimezone S 1% soln.)
Hydroquinone 2.0 g

1% Dimezone-S solution with 2% Sod. Sulfite can be used in place of Phenidone base. See D. Neville SuperBulletin #37 for a discussion of the advantages of Dimezone S versus Phenidone. Multiply phenidone by 1.27 to give the Dimezone S substitution amount.

Process Ektachrome & Fuji Provia-400 6 min @ 100F. Process Fuji Provia-100 7 min @ 100F. Fuji Provia-400 1 ½ stop push is 7 min 30s @ 100F.

Allen Bell, Zone V newsletters (1981). This formula demonstrates that almost any good black & white developer serves for E-6 first development.

Water 110-120F 24oz
Disodium EDTA 1/8 tsp
Metol 1 tsp
Hydroquinone 2 tsp
Pot. Carbonate anhyd. 2 TBL
Pot. Bromide ¼ tsp
Sodium thiocyanate 51% soln.. 5 ml
Water to make 1 quart

PS время обработки при комнатной температуре будет конечно выше чем при штатной
